The Mid-Day Meal Programme, now known as PM POSHAN (Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman), is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme implemented in collaboration with the Government of West Bengal. Weekly Menu A balanced weekly menu is followed as per the guidelines issued by the School Education Department, Government of West Bengal. The menu generally includes rice, dal, seasonal vegetables, and additional items such as egg or seasonal fruits on designated days (as per current state directives).
Quality & Hygiene Measures Food is prepared in hygienic kitchen sheds or by authorised agencies Regular monitoring is conducted by school authorities, School Management Committees (SMCs), and municipal officials Emphasis is placed on cleanliness, safe drinking water, and timely serving of meals
Implementation in Dhulian Municipality The Municipality works in close coordination with the District Administration, School Education Department, and concerned schools to ensure smooth supply of food grains, cooking cost, and quality monitoring of the Mid-Day Meal Programme within its jurisdiction.
