The Conservancy / Sanitary Department of Dhulian Municipality is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and proper sanitation across all 21 wards of the municipal area. The department works continuously to ensure a clean and healthy environment for the citizens of Dhulian.
Key Functions & Responsibilities:
Door to door collection of solid waste (garbage)
Street sweeping and cleaning of public roads and lanes
Cleaning and maintenance of drains and roadside channels
Removal of garbage from markets, public places, and dumping points
Management and disposal of municipal solid waste
Prevention of waterlogging and blockage of drains
Sanitation related to public toilets and community sanitary complexes
Awareness programmes on cleanliness and waste segregation
Implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission related activities
